This is a hands-on technical role where you will help ensure CSR products, systems and technical documentation meet the requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian and New Zealand Standards, and other relevant codes and standards.

If you are an engineer with experience in product compliance, testing, building products, or technical assessment and enjoy combining engineering analysis with practical problem-solving, this could be a great next step.

You will provide technical compliance support across CSR's Interior Systems product range, helping ensure our products and systems meet relevant building codes, standards, and performance requirements.

Collaborating with CSR's engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality, marketing, and commercial teams, while also building strong relationships with external laboratories, consultants, and compliance providers.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting technical analysis, assessment, and testing programs for new and existing CSR products.
  • Assessing product performance and evidence of suitability against the NCC and applicable Australian and New Zealand Standards.
  • Coordinating testing through external laboratories, consultants, and CSR's in-house testing capabilities.

  • Ensuring published technical product information remains accurate, current, and compliant.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on relevant Standards, Codes and NCC requirements.
  • Supporting new product development projects from a technical compliance perspective.
  • Working closely with CSR manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure ongoing product performance meets compliance requirements.
  • Managing relationships with external testing authorities, consultants, and technical service providers.
  • Supporting practical laboratory testing, including sample preparation, test set-up, monitoring, and data recording.
  • Contributing to a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

About you

You will ideally bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering analysis, technical compliance, product testing, new product development, or a related technical environment.
  • Good knowledge of the National Construction Code and relevant product & testing Codes and Standards.
  • Building or construction industry knowledge, ideally involving building products, materials, or systems.
  • Strong technical analysis, mathematical and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent written communication skills and confidence preparing technical documentation and reports.
  • Strong project and process management skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, and external testing providers.
  • A practical, results-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.

Experience undertaking experiments, conducting product testing, or working with laboratory equipment will be highly regarded.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, product innovation, building compliance, and manufacturing, with exposure across a diverse portfolio of building products and systems.
