This is a growth role. As General Manager, you'll lead a two year period of accelerated growth and enterprise value creation, reporting to the Founder and CEO.
The business is part of a wider biotechnology group and is commercialising an innovative, science backed livestock nutrition product designed to deliver both productivity and environmental benefits for producers. Its first focus is the intensive livestock sector, with broader livestock markets to follow. The product, the science and the early customer relationships are in place. Now the business needs a leader to turn early adoption into scalable, profitable growth.
Key responsibilities
- Own the two year growth and financial plan, including P&L, cash and funding requirements
- Set market priorities, pricing and channel strategy across producers, nutritionists, vets and distributors
- Lead debt or equity capital raising with the Founder, Board and advisers
- Secure customers, distribution partners and strategic industry relationships
- Build and coach a commercial team, with the governance and reporting to support rapid expansion
- Position the business to choose its next phase from a position of strength
About you
- Proven leadership of a growth business, with P&L accountability and measurable value created
- A track record of commercialising technically complex products and building channels
- Credibility with livestock producers and technical specialists. Experience in intensive livestock, animal health, livestock nutrition or agribusiness is highly valued
- The judgement and presence to represent the business to investors, lenders and a Board
- A collaborative style with founders, and the confidence to challenge constructively
- A qualification in agriculture, agribusiness, business or science is desirable. Equivalent leadership experience is equally valued
$230,000 base salary plus superannuation + Executive vehicle
