Own accounts payable for a group of carbon, agricultural and technology businesses, from invoice receipt to payment. You will work in a modern AP set-up built on AI tools, including Derive (AP system), Xero and Eftsure, using automation and AI tools to take on the manual load, so your time goes into accuracy, controls and helping the business get it right.

Corporate Carbon Group is an Australian carbon project developer and advisory business. We originate, develop and manage projects that generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) across vegetation, savanna fire management and agricultural methods, and we hold an Australian Financial Services Licence for our carbon trading and advisory activities. The group includes Corporate Carbon Advisory, Paniri Agricultural Co. and Maki Planet Systems.

The role
Process supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims end to end in Derive (AP system) and Xero, across multiple Group entities.
Review automated pre-coding, correct it where needed, and keep bills moving through approvals in time for our fortnightly payment runs.
Support supplier onboarding and bank detail verification through Eftsure and help protect the Group against payment fraud.
Reconcile bank and corporate card accounts and support inter-company reconciliations.
Prepare AP information for month-end, BAS, audit and tax.
Help staff and approvers across the business to utilise AI tools well and suggest improvements to our AP processes and tools.
You will need
At least two years' experience in accounts payable or a similar accounts role.
Comfort with embracing new technology and change, including new systems and AI tools. Advanced Xero skills and strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
Close attention to detail, and the judgement to check automated or AI-generated work before relying on it.
A working understanding of GST, BAS and valid tax invoices.
Australian citizenship or the right to work in Australia.
It would help if you have
Experience with an AP automation platform such as Derive (AP system), Dext or ApprovalMax.
Experience working across multiple entities, including inter-company transactions.
Experience using AI tools such as Claude or Copilot in your day-to-day work.
Qualifications in accounting or finance desirable.
