We are seeking an experienced Sales Estimator to join a growing business specialising in security fencing, gates, barriers, steel fabrication and installation.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded estimator who can interpret drawings, calculate project costs and prepare accurate, competitive and profitable quotations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer enquiries, drawings, plans and specifications.
- Prepare estimates, material take-offs and detailed quotations.
- Calculate material, labour, fabrication, transport and installation costs.
- Obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Apply appropriate margins and identify project risks, exclusions and additional costs.
- Follow up quotations and help convert opportunities into orders.
- Assist with tenders and maintain accurate estimating records.
- Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Production and Installation teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
About You
- Background in security fencing, metal fabrication, construction, engineering or building products.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
- Understanding of project costs, pricing and profit margins.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Confident using Excel and estimating or job-management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
- Experience with security fencing, steel fabrication, gates, CAD drawings, tendering or a relevant trade qualification will be highly regarded.
