Opened in 2014, the state-of-the-art food processing facility at Wyong is the first of its kind to be built in Australia, featuring cutting edge standards of innovation and techniques in the preparation of ready-to-eat chicken and meat products.
About the role:
An excellent opportunity currently exists for a QA Officer to join the Cordina Technical team at Wyong. The incumbent will be required to work on rotating shifts that could cover day, afternoon and through the night shifts in our 24 hour operation.
Responsibilities of this position include –
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Monitor performance of hygiene, GMP, food safety, quality and plant standards on a continuous basis and provide corrective feedback where required.
Verify production output meets Specifications including compliance to quality and food safety control points, labelling compliance, and end product assessment checks.
Confirm compliance of raw materials and packaging against documented specifications.
Complete Quality Assurance testing inclusive of supporting line trials during NPD testing, ensuring all measurements and monitoring is carried out in line with parameters set.
Collect and record data according to HACCP and Quality System.
Conduct quality audits and pre-operational site inspections in a methodical and detailed manner to verify that the organizations' food safety program is compliant.
Assisting in managing customer complaints including investigation and report writing.
Carry out production level training on food safety & quality topics, as required
Ensure internal audit follow-ups to non-conformances are completed in line with deadlines set and assist with action plans, as required
Engage with an evolving foods safety and quality culture landscape, acting in support of all internal customers to the Quality Team including but not limited to Operations, Hygiene, NPD and Maintenance Teams.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Nutrition, or related discipline
Previous experience in food quality assurance in protein and candidates with high risk / high care exposure are highly regarded.
Internal Audit experience
Self-Motivated and a Quick Learner
Team Player, with the ability to work unsupervised
Mature minded
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Advanced MS Office skills, previous work with digitalised systems will be advantageous.
