The Opportunity
We are working with a genuinely fantastic, well-established, Australian-owned engineering consultancy based on Sydney's Upper North Shore, looking to welcome an experienced Mid-Senior Civil Engineer to their growing team. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Civil Engineer who has developed a strong technical design background but is now looking to take greater ownership of projects, manage client relationships and play a key role in project delivery. The company works across a diverse portfolio of projects within the industrial, commercial, retail and education sectors, offering plenty of variety and the opportunity to be involved in projects from concept through to completion.
And the company itself? Genuinely one of the good ones! With a fantastic culture, regular social events, supportive leadership and a close-knit team who genuinely enjoy working together, this is an environment where people are valued, well looked after and encouraged to develop their careers. As a successful medium-sized Australian-owned consultancy, they offer the perfect balance of exciting projects, autonomy and career progression, without the corporate hierarchy and red tape often found in larger Tier 1 firms.
The Role
This position is ideal for a technically strong Civil Engineer who enjoys the bigger picture of engineering projects and wants to focus more on project management, coordination and delivery rather than day-to-day hands-on design. You’ll be responsible for managing projects, coordinating internal teams, liaising with clients and ensuring projects are delivered successfully. While you won’t be expected to spend all your time designing, a strong civil design background is essential to confidently oversee technical work, guide designers and make informed engineering decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering projects from initial concept through to detailed design and delivery.
- Oversee projects across the industrial, commercial, retail and education sectors.
- Coordinate civil designers, engineers and other project stakeholders.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and deliverables.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects, consultants and relevant authorities.
- Provide technical guidance and review civil engineering designs and documentation.
- Oversee civil works including earthworks, stormwater drainage, pavement design, site grading and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure projects are delivered successfully.
Interested? If you’re a Civil Engineer with a strong design background who is ready to take the next step into project management, or an experienced Senior Civil Engineer looking for a company with a genuinely fantastic culture, we’d love to hear from you!
