Progress Your Career in Electronic Security with Comtex!
Are you hands-on, tech-savvy, and ready to take your career to the next level?
Comtex Security & Defence is on the lookout for a motivated Electronic Security Technician to join our growing Sydney-based team.
You'll get to work on enterprise level, cutting-edge security systems — from CCTV and alarms to access control and intercoms — across varied and high-impact projects in commercial, government, defence, transport, and more. No two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing:
Install, program, commission, and service advanced electronic security systems
Work solo or as part of a dynamic team
Travel across the Sydney metro area (and sometimes beyond!)
Tackle real-world challenges — like fault-finding and commissioning large-scale systems
Represent Comtex to our valued clients — your communication skills matter
What We're Looking For:
At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
Certification in systems like Integriti, Gallagher, or Tecom
Hands-on with enterprise VMS like Genetec, Milestone, or Avigilon
NSW Security Licence (or willing to get one)
Confident with tools, electronics, basic IP networking, and reading security drawings/cable schedules etc.
Great communicator, self-starter, and team player
Bonus Points if You Have:
Experience with Inner Range Concept or DOE school systems
Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (for security clearance)
Skills installing electronic locks, cabling, or door hardware
MSIC/ASIC card
White Card + EWP/Boom Lift ticket
Cabling licence
What We Offer You:
Solid salary + regular reviews
Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (plus E-Tag & fuel card)
Phone & laptop included
Training & certification (incl. factory courses)
Opportunities to step up quickly into a Supervisor role
A friendly, supportive team who take pride in what we do
Note: This is not an IT/cybersecurity role — it's real-world, hands-on tech work.
Ready to make an impact with your skills?
At Comtex, we're not just installing systems — we're building safer communities, one project at a time.
