CompuTracts Pty Ltd (Business Name: Connect One Recruitment) is seeking a Senior Technical Writer for a 12-month contract with the ACT Government at a rate of $201.60 per hour. A baseline security clearance is required or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of one day per week onsite in the ACT.
Role Summary: The Senior Technical Writer will deliver accurate, consistent, and governance-compliant technical documentation across ICT infrastructure refresh, architecture, and asset management initiatives. The role involves collaboration with technical SMEs, architects, project managers, and asset management specialists to develop high-quality documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, consolidate, update, and maintain technical design documentation across multiple ICT program streams, including conceptual and detailed system designs.
- Collaborate with architects, SMEs, project managers, and asset management specialists to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, traceable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Develop SOPs, technical documentation packs, and governance artefacts while applying appropriate version control, documentation standards, and metadata requirements.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in technical writing within ICT infrastructure, asset management, or operational ICT environments, with the ability to standardise documentation across complex programs.
- Strong understanding of ICT architecture artefacts, technical design diagrams, and system configuration documentation, with proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Microsoft Visio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong stakeholder engagement, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable: Experience with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence, ITIL knowledge or qualifications, and relevant technical qualifications or industry certifications.
