Commercial Wire Design is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Metal Work Labourer to join our team at our workshop in Brendale. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the metal fabrication industry. You’ll work alongside our experienced fabricators and welders, assisting with product manufacturing and general workshop tasks. No previous experience is necessary — we’re looking for the right attitude, work ethic and fitness.
The Role
- Lifting and moving metal sheets, shelves, wire frames and equipment
- Preparing materials by deburring, grinding, sanding and cleaning metal parts
- Assisting tradespeople with fabrication and welding tasks
- Holding materials in place for tack welding
- Handing tools and materials to tradespeople
- Keeping the workshop clean and organised
- Operating basic machinery such as cut-off saws and pillar drills under supervision
- General labouring and workshop duties
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Physically fit and capable of continuous manual handling
- Comfortable standing and working for extended periods
- Able to follow instructions and work safely
- Reliable transport
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Comfortable wearing mandatory PPE, including steel-cap boots, safety glasses and hearing protection
No experience is required. The right applicant will receive on-the-job training in welding and metal fabrication, with the potential opportunity to work towards a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade for the right person. This is an excellent opportunity to start a long-term career in the metal fabrication industry and learn from experienced tradespeople.

- Overtime: Some night work available
