About the role

This is a role that's all about people. One day you might be supporting clients to attend a social outing, community event or group activity. The next, you could be sharing stories over a coffee, helping someone build new connections or simply making their day a little brighter. You’ll be part driver, part companion and part cheerleader, helping clients get out and about safely while creating positive experiences and meaningful moments along the way. If you’re someone who enjoys meeting people, loves a good conversation and finds joy in helping others live life to the fullest, you’ll feel right at home.

Key responsibilities:

  • Driving clients to and from event locations whilst always maintaining exceptional customer service
  • Assisting clients socially on a one-on-one and group basis, including sitting and conversing with clients
  • Providing direct personal care to the client, including assisting clients with their mobility, assisting clients in and out of a vehicle, assistance with meals or toileting, or other identified needs
  • Supporting coordination and hosting of events, ensuring that activities run as planned
  • Liaising with event coordinators and office personnel as required
  • Recognising, monitoring and reporting on client's conditions and needs
  • Assisting with administrative tasks and other program support as required

Before you apply, here are a few practical things to know about the role:

  • The successful candidate will have availability to work from 8:30am - 3:30pm Wednesday - Friday
  • You may be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre-reimbursement offered
  • Current Traffic History report will be required
  • Paid compliance checks offered including NDIS Worker Screening

What you'll bring:

You might already have experience in aged care, community services or disability support. You're someone who enjoys helping others, knows how to make people feel welcome and brings positive energy wherever you go. Most importantly, you'll be someone who genuinely enjoys building connections and helping our clients stay active, independent and engaged in their community. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Minimum Certificate III qualification i.e., Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services
  • Current open Driver's License (Light Rigid is desirable, but not essential)
  • Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry
  • The commitment to represent Comlink Australia with pride and help make lives better
  • Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness
