Mainframe Security Administrator in Melbourne

Role Summary

We are seeking a senior Mainframe Security Administrator to secure and administer our IBM z/OS environment using RACF. You will own the RACF database, manage digital certificates, support auditing and compliance, and ensure security is configured correctly across a Parallel Sysplex environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer RACF users, groups, and resource profiles, and maintain resource access lists
• Manage the RACF database: backup databases, database housekeeping, and monitoring of usable database space.
• Run and interpret RACF utilities for database initialization, split/merge/extend, unload, and verification.
• Plan and execute database changes, such as switching to a backup database, with controls to prevent corruption from incorrect database sharing.

• Provide 2nd/3rd-level support for z/OS security incidents and access issues.
• Work with systems programmers, application teams, and security/GRC teams.
• Create and maintain procedures, runbooks, and documentation.

Mandatory Skills

• IBM z/OS: deep, hands-on knowledge of the operating system
• Parallel Sysplex: working knowledge of Parallel Sysplex concepts.
• RACF: strong knowledge of RACF concepts and administration, including RACF database management.
• RACF digital certificates: hands-on experience with RACDCERT.
• RACF auditing: hands-on experience.
• 8+ years of relevant mainframe security administration experience.
