- Australian Citizen who can attain (or currently holds) a Baseline security clearance.
The gig involves operating with real autonomy inside a large, fast-moving environment, translating complex business and ICT requirements into secure-by-design architectures that actually get built. You will be the go-to voice on cyber security strategy, guiding delivery teams through the noise, resolving architectural exceptions, and keeping the agency's platforms locked down without slowing anyone down.
The role spans the full solution lifecycle — from conceptual design through to governance and assurance — and you'll be presenting clear, risk-based advice to senior executives and governance bodies. Based in QLD, WA, VIC, NSW, SA (with hybrid/negotiable arrangements), this is a genuine opportunity to shape security architecture at scale.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business issues within the cyber security domain, deliver pragmatic, risk-based recommendations, influencing stakeholder skills, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of architecture principles and end-to-end solution design, including the integration of cyber security requirements throughout the architecture lifecycle.
- Experience applying Australian Government cyber security, protective security, resilience and architecture governance frameworks.
- Experience designing secure systems that support critical government services, including system and subsystem boundaries, centralised monitoring, cyber security technologies and security automation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting clear architectural advice and recommendations to senior governance bodies and executive forums.
