Job Details: We are seeking a full-time person to join our Brookvale team in a combined role, serving customers on the retail floor and fulfilling online orders from our mail order department, which dispatches to customers right across the country.
This is a single full-time position working across two departments at our Brookvale site: retail and mail order. Your 38 hours are guaranteed; the split between departments will vary with store and order volumes.
If you have boating and sailing knowledge, are practical and have an enthusiastic personality, we would like to hear from you.
Duties Involve:
On the retail floor:
- Providing friendly and courteous service to our customers over the phone and in person
- Cash register and customer service desk operation
- Providing advice on marine products in our retail store
- Store merchandising and housekeeping
- Picking stock accurately for online orders
- Packing orders securely for courier transit
- Printing labels and processing consignments
- Keeping the pack area tidy, stocked and organised
- Flagging stock shortfalls or order issues to the team
Skills Required:
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- High attention to detail while showing pride in your work — the right item, in the right box, every time
- The ability to stand or be on your feet for long periods
- Physically fit and able to move heavy products and/or bulky goods
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to tasks and workload
- Comfortable switching between serving customers and working through the order queue
About the Position:
- You will be working a 38-hour week rostered over 5 of our 7 trading days.
- Your time will be split between the retail floor and our mail order department, depending on store and order volumes.
- Above award conditions and pay.
- There is scope for advancement to a retail management role for the right candidate.
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential.
