Retail/Warehouse Assistant in Melbourne

We are a leading retailer and wholesaler specialising in professional animal grooming products. We supply a wide range of grooming equipment, tools and accessories to professional groomers, salons and pet owners. We are looking for a friendly, motivated and organised Retail & Social Media Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role combining traditional retail and customer service responsibilities with social media management, product promotion and content creation. You will play an important role in assisting customers, maintaining our showroom, promoting our products and helping showcase our range across social media and other digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.
• Provide product information, advice and recommendations based on customer needs.
• Process sales and transactions accurately through our point-of-sale system.
• Respond to customer enquiries in-store, over the phone and through online channels.
• Maintain a clean, organised, well-stocked and visually appealing showroom.
• Assist with stock replenishment, inventory management and visual merchandising.
• Help promote new products, specials, promotions and services.
• Assist with the day-to-day management of the company's social media accounts.
• Create and schedule engaging social media content showcasing products, promotions, new arrivals and company updates.
• Photograph and video products for use across social media, our website and marketing campaigns.
• Help create simple promotional graphics, product demonstrations, reels and other digital content.
• Assist with showcasing products in an appealing and informative way to help customers better understand their features and benefits.
• Monitor social media engagement and assist with responding to customer comments and messages.
• Contribute ideas for marketing campaigns, promotions and new ways to showcase our products.
• Work towards sales targets by confidently recommending and promoting suitable products and services.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and workplace safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous retail, customer service or sales experience is preferred.
• Experience and/or knowledge of animal grooming is highly desirable.
• An interest in pets, grooming products and the pet industry.
• Experience managing business social media accounts would be highly regarded.
• Confidence using platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
• An interest in creating photos, videos, reels and promotional content.
• Basic knowledge of Canva, photo editing or similar content creation programs would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
• A willingness to learn about our products and confidently demonstrate and promote them.
