About the opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager – Fleet to play a key role in driving the financial and operational performance of Cleanaway’s national fleet. Partnering closely with our Heads of Fleet and senior stakeholders across the business, you’ll provide commercial leadership across a significant multi-million-dollar portfolio of strategic fleet initiatives. You’ll bring commercial discipline, strong financial insight and a clear focus on turning strategy into measurable, sustainable outcomes.

This is a highly visible role for a commercially minded leader who enjoys working at both a strategic and hands-on level — from building financial models and assessing investment decisions to influencing senior stakeholders and driving delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide commercial leadership and governance across a significant portfolio of strategic fleet initiatives
  • Partner with Fleet leadership to translate strategy into clear financial plans, targets and measurable outcomes
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across Fleet
  • Develop robust financial models, business cases and scenario analysis to support investment and commercial decisions
  • Track initiative performance, financial benefits, risks and opportunities, ensuring expected outcomes are delivered
  • Identify opportunities to improve fleet productivity, utilisation, cost efficiency and overall commercial performance
  • Develop meaningful reporting, KPIs and analytics that provide clear, actionable insights
  • Partner with stakeholders across Fleet, Finance, Operations and Procurement to influence decisions and drive outcomes

About you

You’ll be an experienced commercial professional who can confidently move between detailed analysis and senior-level conversations. You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in commercial finance, commercial management, business partnering or a similar role
  • Strong financial modelling, business case development and scenario analysis capability
  • Experience supporting or leading strategic, transformation, productivity or cost-improvement initiatives
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and management reporting skills
  • Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders within a large, complex organisation
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations and action
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Experience within fleet, transport, logistics, infrastructure, waste or another asset-intensive environment will be highly regarded

This is an opportunity to make an impact across one of the most significant operational areas of our business. You’ll have the scope to influence major commercial decisions, improve performance and help shape how our fleet strategy translates into real business value.

If you’re commercially driven, comfortable challenging the status quo and motivated by turning strategy into measurable results, we’d love to hear from you.
