The Assistant Accountant will support the finance function across Claude Media Group. The role suits an individual looking to build a long-term career with the business and grow alongside a dynamic and evolving finance team. The Assistant Accountant will gain hands‑on experience across financial and management accounting, internal and external audit processes, GST, FBT, income tax compliance, and other regulatory and tax‑related matters. Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly bank reconciliations
- Reconcile sundry debtor accounts and investigate outstanding items
- Prepare and maintain corporate credit card reconciliations, including American Express and Mastercard accounts
- Assist with the preparation and review of other balance sheet reconciliations as required
- Assist with month end reporting and consolidation process across the Group
- Prepare month end reporting for Float Arm
- Provide backup support for weekly sales reporting
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable functions, including invoice processing and supplier reconciliations
- Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable functions, including receipting, customer account reconciliations, and collections activities
- Assist with GST, FBT, income tax, and other statutory compliance requirements
About you
- 1-2 years' accounting experience
- Excellent attention to detail with proactive attitude
- Confident and articulate communicator (internal and external)
- Outgoing, friendly and an excellent team player, flexible to change and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- High standard of English both written and verbal
- Progress towards CPA or CA qualifications (desirable)
