Applications are now open for our Asset Inspection Trainee intake, commencing in early October 2026. We currently have opportunities based in either Brooklyn, Burnley or Geelong.

Asset Inspectors are responsible for inspecting and assessing power poles and associated overhead and underground assets across our network, with the key purpose being to identify and categorise faults, defects, and condition of the poles. The role requires someone who is comfortable working autonomously and is willing to travel frequently within their designated area. Therefore, in order to be eligible for the traineeship, all candidates are required to have a valid driver's licence.

This Traineeship will run over a 12-month period, combining formal TAFE study and paid field work to enable you to gain the skills, competencies and experience required for an industry recognised certification (Certificate II in Electricity Supply Industry – Asset Inspection and Testing).

To be eligible, our Apprenticeship program pre-requisites are Credit grade in Year 10 Maths and English, or any higher levels of education. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to consider applying, whether you are leaving school, TAFE, have experience working in a different industry, or if perhaps you have decided university is not for you. We look for motivated individuals who want to be part of a team.

This position is covered by the Electrix Pty Ltd & ETU Powerline Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026. The salary range for this role is Level 1 ($54.83/hourly rate) + 13% of super + allowances.

Base Criteria:
