Lead HR compliance audits from first call to final report, and be the advisor clients rely on to get it right.

Why you'll love this role:

  • Own audits end-to-end - no handing off halfway through
  • Real variety across awards, pay compliance, contracts and policy
  • Be the first face clients meet when they join Citation HR

About the Opportunity:

At Citation HR, no two audits look the same. One morning you might be working out which award covers a growing hospitality business and whether their team is being paid correctly. By afternoon, you're reviewing contracts and policies for a professional services firm getting its HR foundations in place. That range isn't accidental - it's the point.

As a Workplace Relations Consultant, you'll lead HR compliance audits from the initial audit call through to the report and implementation call, giving clients clear, commercially focused advice on award coverage and classification, pay-rate compliance, employment contracts, contractor agreements and workplace policies. You'll own each audit end to end, and you'll have the backing of your Technical Manager and the wider Citation HR advisory team whenever a matter needs a second view.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Join the HR & WHS Advisory team at Citation HR, reporting to the Technical Manager.
  • Help businesses reduce their legal and commercial risk through accurate, practical advice and documentation.
  • Own the HR audit process from the initial audit call through to the report and implementation call, delivering reports on time.
  • Represent Citation in initial client audit meetings and act as the main point of contact for client HR onboarding.
  • Determine award coverage and classifications, check pay rates are compliant, and draft and review employment contracts, contractor agreements and workplace policies.
  • Support Association members and Citation clients who need case management, helping keep our advice line responsive.
  • Build strong client relationships and spot opportunities where our other products and services could help.

What we offer:

  • Real development with direct access to senior employment law and IR practitioners invested in your growth.
  • Career pathways that actually exist within a growing business.
  • Variety you won't find in-house, encountering situations that most in-house HR professionals see once in a career.
  • A culture worth joining, recognised as an Employer of Choice nine times.
  • Flexibility that works with hybrid and flexible arrangements.

Who we're looking for:

You're probably a few years into your HR or ER career and you're hungry for more - more complexity, more autonomy, more variety. You might be coming from an advisory background, or you might be an HR Business Partner who's ready to go deeper on the employment relations side. Either way, you bring:

  • 1-3 years' experience advising on workplace relations matters (in-house HRBP experience counts).
  • Advanced award literacy, including role classification and pay compliance.
  • Some experience drafting contracts, policies and handbooks.
  • A pragmatic, commercial approach - you give advice people can actually act on.
  • The ability to manage multiple clients and priorities without dropping the ball.
  • A genuine drive to be excellent at what you do, not just competent.
  • Formal qualifications in Law or HR are desirable but not essential if your experience speaks for itself.

  • Volunteer day leave to give back to causes you care about.
