- Follow production schedules and workflows to ensure meals are prepared, cooked, cooled and packed within required timeframes.
- Follow approved recipes, portion sizes and dietary requirements to ensure meals meet established quality and nutritional standards.
- Monitor production volumes, ingredient availability and stock levels, applying stock rotation principles and minimising food waste.

- Monitor and maintain appropriate food handling, storage, cooking, cooling and temperature control practices.
- Ensure the kitchen, equipment and work areas are maintained to the required standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Comply with relevant food safety legislation, workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies and procedures.
- Identify and report food safety risks, equipment issues or opportunities to improve kitchen practices.
