CHILKO AIR is a growing air conditioning company based in South Nowra, and we're looking for another gun technician to join our crew. We're building a workplace for people who work hard, know their trade, take pride in what they do and want to be rewarded for it. If that's you, this might be worth a look.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY GETTING:

• $40–$57 PER HOUR: Your rate depends on your experience, skill and what you bring to the team. If you're genuinely good at what you do, we're prepared to pay for it.
• UP TO $250 EXTRA PER WEEK OVER SUMMER: From 1 November to 28 February, you'll receive a $50 Summer Incentive for every day actually worked, up to $250 per week.
• 38 HOURS' PAY GUARANTEED: Working your normal agreed week? You've got the security of your ordinary 38 hours.
• FINISH WHEN THE JOB'S DONE: We're not interested in keeping good technicians standing around just to make the clock happy. Jobs completed properly. Paperwork done. Van sorted. Customer happy. With approval, go home.
• 4-DAY WEEK OPTION: For the right person and agreed roster, there's the opportunity to structure your week across four days.
• FULLY STOCKED COMPANY VEHICLE: Set up properly with the equipment you need to do your job.
• COMPANY PHONE SUPPLIED
• LOCAL SHOALHAVEN WORK: No working away. No spending half your life travelling. Get the job done and get home.
• MONTHLY TEAM LUNCH OR BBQ — OUR SHOUT: Once a month we'll get the crew together, put the tools down and have a proper feed.
• SUMMER DRINKS FRIDGE: Cold drinks stocked for the team through the hotter months.
• QUALITY BRANDS & QUALITY INSTALLATIONS: You’ll work with brands including Toshiba, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric and Carrier — not whatever was cheapest that week.
• AN OFFICE THAT ACTUALLY ORGANISES THE WORK: Jobs scheduled properly. Customers communicated with. Information available before you arrive. You should be able to concentrate on being a technician — not spend half your day fixing office problems.

THERE IS A CATCH... We expect you to be good. This isn't the job for someone looking for somewhere comfortable to hide. We move. We work hard. We help each other. We communicate with customers properly. And when we put CHILKO AIR on an installation, we want to be proud of what's underneath it. We don't care about dragging a job out to fill the day. If you can produce excellent work efficiently, that's something we want to reward — not punish with another job because you finished early.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You’ll work across the Shoalhaven on a mix of:

• Residential split system installations
• Ducted air conditioning installations
• Servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnostics and fault finding
• Repairs
• Residential and commercial air conditioning

We want technicians capable of thinking for themselves, solving problems and producing work they'd happily put their own name on.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Ideally, you’re a qualified Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic with at least 2 years post-trade experience. You don’t need to be perfect. But you DO need to:

• Know your trade
• Take pride in your workmanship
• Be able to fault-find
• Work efficiently without cutting corners
• Be reliable
• Communicate properly with customers
• Look after your vehicle and equipment
• Help the bloke working beside you
• Take responsibility for the finished job

You’ll also need the appropriate trade qualifications, Refrigerant Handling Licence, Australian driver's licence, White Card and Australian working rights.

GOOD 3RD OR 4TH YEAR APPRENTICE? Don’t rule yourself out. If you’re ahead of the pack, can already work with some independence and reckon you can keep up with our technicians, we’d still like to hear from you. Your pay will reflect your actual ability — not just the year written on your apprenticeship paperwork.
