About Our Team
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges. CAMHS Inpatient and Hospital in the Home Service, located at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH), Hollywood Hospital, and patient home settings, is an acute mental health inpatient service authorised under the WA Mental Health Act (2014). It provides 24/7 therapeutic care for children and adolescents up to 16 years old who require acute psychiatric support, whether admitted voluntarily or involuntarily when less restrictive care options are not suitable. As the state-wide CAMHS Inpatient and Hospital in the Home Service offers a safe, developmentally appropriate, and therapeutic environment. The multidisciplinary team works closely with families and carers to deliver comprehensive diagnostic assessments, tailored therapeutic programs, and recovery-oriented management. Operating within hospital and patient home settings, the service runs a seven-day program that includes short-term assessments, diagnostic clarification, treatment initiation, and group therapies designed to meet individual needs. The service is patient- and family-centred, with a strong focus on recovery and collaboration.
