Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, China, built on a philosophy of independent innovation with a complete technology and product R&D system. Chery exports to more than 80 countries, partners with global brands such as Jaguar and Land Rover in China, and has sold more than 7 million vehicles, the first Chinese automaker to reach that milestone and the top-ranked Chinese brand for 15 consecutive years. With global R&D centres in China, Silicon Valley and Europe, and 14 production sites worldwide, Chery employs more than 16,700 people, including 3,500 in R&D. Chery Australia was established three years ago, with offices in Sydney, and continues to build a team of experts to drive innovation and disrupt the market.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

iCAUR, created by Chery, is an accessible premium BEV and REEV SUV brand that launched globally at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2025. iCAUR is built for drivers who want design, technology and a premium ownership experience, with the flexibility to personalise their vehicle through accessories. Launching in Australia in Q1 2027, iCAUR occupies genuine white space: above the volume Chinese entrants, below the traditional luxury set, anchored by the Born to Play brand spirit and powered by REEV technology that removes the last barrier to going electric.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Social Media Specialist owns iCAUR's social content calendar and the brand's day-to-day presence across social channels, from planning through to posting, community management and real-time engagement. The role blends ongoing content planning with fast-turnaround execution: spotting and acting on trends, and building relationships with influencers and creators to keep iCAUR's social presence current and engaging from first contact through launch and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day posting, scheduling and community management across iCAUR's social channels (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, expanding to YouTube and TikTok in the future)
  • Own and maintain iCAUR's social content calendar, planning posts in line with brand campaigns, product launches and key dates
  • Monitor trends, conversations and cultural moments relevant to iCAUR's audience, creating fast-turnaround content that keeps the brand feeling current
  • Build and manage day-to-day influencer and creator relationships, coordinating gifting, content collaborations and campaign amplification
  • Liaise with influencers on loan cars, coordinating vehicle handovers and content requirements for collaborations
  • Respond to comments, DMs and mentions in brand voice, escalating sensitive issues to the PR & Communications Specialist where needed
  • Provide real-time social coverage of key brand moments, including the Everything Electric Show and the Sydney launch event
  • Track day-to-day social performance (engagement, follower growth, reach) and feed insights back into content and campaign planning
  • Keep a pulse on platform and algorithm changes, recommending adjustments to keep iCAUR's channels performing

REQUIREMENTS

We're looking for someone with hands-on experience running brand social channels day-to-day, ideally within automotive, lifestyle or premium consumer brands, who has a genuine feel for online culture and can move fast without losing brand quality. Other requirements include:

  • A strong, current feel for social platforms, with the ability to spot and act on trends quickly
  • Experience managing influencer and creator relationships at an operational level (briefing, coordination, content delivery)
  • Confident community management skills, comfortable responding in brand voice under time pressure
  • Strong eye for short-form, platform-native content (Reels, Stories, TikTok and similar formats)
  • Comfortable working in a lean team, turning content around fast without heavy sign-off layers
  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience
