The Infrastructure Services team sits within Sigma Healthcare's Infrastructure & Cloud department in IT. Working alongside more than 50 specialised engineers and technical experts, the team builds, manages and optimises the core technologies that support the organisation's infrastructure systems and platforms.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Systems & Platforms Team Lead, you will lead the technical delivery of infrastructure systems and services across cloud and on-premises environments. Combining hands-on technical expertise with delivery leadership, you will guide complex projects, strengthen delivery practices and help align infrastructure solutions with Sigma Healthcare's strategic priorities.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement and enhance infrastructure systems and technology solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Partner with project managers and delivery teams to develop technical delivery plans, timelines, dependencies and implementation strategies.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures and infrastructure best practices.
- Align infrastructure initiatives with organisational priorities and contribute to technology and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Implement and improve automation, orchestration and infrastructure-as-code to increase efficiency, consistency and resilience.
- Provide senior technical guidance, support complex decisions and mentor colleagues on effective delivery practices.
- Validate infrastructure solutions against security standards, policies, risk controls and regulatory requirements, and address gaps.
- Improve infrastructure processes, technical standards and ways of working to enhance reliability and service quality.
- Champion best practices in monitoring, observability, performance, availability and operational resilience.
- Build effective relationships across technical and non-technical teams to support collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing.
Who are we looking for?
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 8 years' experience in systems engineering and 5+ years leading technical delivery of infrastructure solutions and systems.
- Strong capability across Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and messaging services, Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux servers and Microsoft core services.
- Extensive knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, NetApp and Commvault.
- Experience with identity and access management platforms such as Microsoft Entra.
- Excellent planning, organisation, attention to detail and time management skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A collaborative, adaptable approach, with initiative, a willingness to learn and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience delivering critical infrastructure projects in large organisations, advanced Excel, financial acumen and SharePoint experience will be highly regarded.
