Chemcote Specialty Coatings is an Australia-wide specialist in anti-corrosion coating solutions. We provide end-to-end services, from inspection of steel infrastructure and corrosion assessment, through surface preparation and repair, to final protective coating application. We service a wide range of industries including offshore oil & gas, marine, energy and infrastructure.
About the Role
You will be involved in the preparation and coating of steel structures to protect against corrosion. Work is primarily carried out on-site across Wollongong and the East Coast of Australia, including ports, industrial sites, and marine environments. Full training will be provided.
Typical duties include:
- Surface preparation (cleaning, drying, grit blasting)
- Application of protective coatings
- Working as part of a team on various project sites
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in industrial painting, blasting, or coatings (advantageous)
- Experience as a painter, mechanic, welder, or diver (beneficial)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
- No claustrophobia (confined space work may be required)
- Flexible with working hours
- Valid driver’s licence (Class C)
- Good communication in English
- Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn
