I’m partnering with an established organisation to recruit a Management Accountant into a broad role combining month-end accounting, management reporting, project finance and business partnering. This would be a great opportunity for someone looking for more than a traditional accounting role.
Alongside owning key month-end activities, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, particularly around IT project spend, Capex/Opex, budgeting and forecasting, providing insight into performance and helping support better commercial decisions.
The role will include:
- Preparing monthly financial and management reporting, including variance analysis and reporting packs
- Supporting the month-end close including journals, accruals, reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
- Tracking IT project expenditure against budgets and forecasts
- Reviewing project expenditure and ensuring the correct Capex/Opex accounting treatment
- Supporting fixed asset capitalisation and project accounting
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Partnering with non-finance stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insight
- Improving reporting, processes, controls and financial governance
- Supporting internal/external audit and ad hoc finance projects
About you: You’ll ideally be a CA/CPA qualified or nearly qualified accountant with a strong grounding in financial or management accounting. You’ll need strong analytical skills, confidence working with stakeholders and, importantly, the desire to understand why the numbers are moving rather than simply reporting them.
For someone looking to build a career across management accounting, FP&A and commercial finance, this is a strong opportunity to get the technical foundations while gaining genuine exposure to projects, stakeholders and forward-looking finance.
