Are you an experienced Light Rigid Driver who loves working with dogs? We are seeking a reliable, physically fit and motivated individual to join our team supporting a highly specialised canine program.
This unique role combines driving responsibilities with hands-on canine care, providing an opportunity to work with a professional team dedicated to the health, welfare and development of working dogs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Light Rigid vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions
- Clean, feed, groom and exercise a colony of canines
- Monitor canine health and welfare
- Conduct routine health and welfare checks
- Administer medication under veterinary direction
- Issue food, equipment and supplies appropriate to each canine's age and development stage
- Facilitate the safe transport of canines and equipment across Melbourne and Greater Geelong
- Accompany canines to veterinary and specialist appointments
- Maintain fleet vehicles and ensure they are clean, safe and roadworthy
- Interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Clean and maintain facilities, vehicles and equipment in accordance with operational guidelines
About You
- Hold a current Light Rigid (LR) Licence
- Confident driving both manual and automatic vehicles
- Experience in canine care, animal handling, animal husbandry or a related field is highly regarded
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and able to meet basic mobility and fitness requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Capable of managing competing priorities and changing schedules
- Committed to following operational procedures, safety requirements and animal welfare standards at all times
- Pass full security clearances incl
