About the Opportunity
Rio Tinto is a global mining and materials company operating in 35 countries, producing the materials essential to modern life. Their operations are built on safety, innovation, inclusion and creating value for communities, customers and shareholders. This role is supporting a 24/7 operation, and the successful candidate will be required to work a rotating roster including Day, Night, Weekend and Public holiday work, with the roster patterns as follows: 5/5/4 - 5 days on, 5 days off, 4 nights on, 5 days off, 2 days/3 nights, 4 days off.
Your task is to monitor and manage mining equipment from a central control room. Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations Centre, and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:
- Coordinate haulage
- Respond to system alerts and operational issues
- Maintain communication with on-site personnel ensuring production targets
- Use specialised software and control systems remotely
Your duties will also include:
- Strong commitment to safety
- Operation of fleet management systems with a range of multiple fleet types and targets
- Engage with key stakeholders to enhance daily, weekly and monthly targets and strategies
- Effective administration and information collating
- Comply with business fatigue management and drug and alcohol policies
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Prior Mining/Experience in Mine Operations control room environment (Preferred), or similar exposure in Fleet or Logistics Environments, or high-volume operational environments (Logistics, Warehousing or Aviation)
- Fleet Management System experience is advantageous
- Understanding of service delivery and value chain impacts
- Ability to multitask and identify risks
- Efficient activation of emergency response and coordination or other high pressure critical tasks
- Continuous improvement and collaborative mindset
- Hold a current drivers licence and have reliable transport
