We are partnering with a Queensland Government agency to recruit an experienced Senior Policy Advisor (AO6) for a 12-month contract opportunity within a high-performing policy team.
This role will suit a policy professional with experience providing strategic advice, conducting complex research and analysis, preparing executive-level briefing materials, and engaging with a diverse range of government, regulatory and industry stakeholders. Working on complex and often sensitive policy matters, you will contribute to the development, implementation and review of policy initiatives that support evidence-based decision-making and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to policy development, review and implementation activities.
- Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of complex policy issues.
- Prepare briefing notes, submissions, correspondence and executive reports.
- Provide high-quality strategic and operational policy advice.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to projects and initiatives within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in policy development, policy analysis or government advisory roles.
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the preparation of executive briefings and reports.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
- Ability to interpret legislation, policy frameworks and strategic directions.
- Experience working in a government, regulatory, infrastructure or related environment will be highly regarded.
