CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Dialysis Unit is a 9 chair unit that offers haemodialysis to patients six days per week.
About the Role
As the primary nurse, you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient's plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team. This will occur with the principles of care coordination, where patients and clients have access to a highly coordinated health care and community support system. It requires alignment of approaches and a strong philosophy of person centred care.
Duties
- To safely manage haemodialysis for end stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Registered Midwife and Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant post graduate education or experience in dialysis nursing
