Brand new vac truck arriving in 2 weeks - be the one who gets to jump in the seat and look after it like your own.
We're after an experienced Vac Truck Operator to run our latest bit of kit, carrying out potholing, trenching and non-destructive excavation around live underground services on our civil & electrical projects.
What makes this different from most vac truck roles:
You won't just be on hire working by yourself with different companies everyday — you'll be part of the CB team working with our crews across different sites and playing an important role within the group. You may also get the chance to cross-train and pick up time on our other trucks, excavators, skid steers and small plant as work allows.
What's in it for you?
- Brand new vac truck - no inheriting someone else's wear and tear
- Be a part of the CB team, not just a solo hire operator
- Genuine variety
- Competitive hourly rate + overtime
- Steady, local work across our civil & electrical construction projects
The Role
- Operating our vacuum excavation truck for potholing, trenching and non-destructive digging (NDD) around electrical, gas, power, water and telecom services
- Safely locating and exposing underground utilities ahead of mechanical excavation
- Reading and following BYDA (Before You Dig Australia) plans and site service mark-outs
- Pre-start checks, basic operational maintenance, and keeping accurate dockets/logbooks
- Picking up shifts on other trucks, excavators, skidsteers or small plant as the opportunity comes up
What You Need
- Minimum HR Licence (Heavy Rigid) - current and unrestricted
- Proven experience operating a PTO-driven vac truck for potholing, trenching and excavation
- Construction induction (White Card)
- Strong understanding of safe digging practices around live underground services
- A genuine interest in building broader plant and truck experience, not just vac truck work
Advantageous
- High-pressure water jetting ticket
- Excavator, skidsteer or other plant tickets
- HC licence
