CAVBUS Group Logan Coaches is seeking an experienced and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our growing workshop team based in Logan Village.
Working on a modern fleet of coaches and commercial vehicles, you will play a vital role in ensuring our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and road-ready. About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet to the highest safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered buses and coaches
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
- Repair and maintain engines, driveline components, brake systems, suspension systems and auxiliary equipment
- Complete safety inspections and defect reporting
- Conduct pre-service and post-repair testing
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Work in accordance with workshop procedures, transport regulations and WHS requirements
- Collaborate with workshop and operations teams to minimise vehicle downtime
- Assist with identifying long-term maintenance solutions and fleet improvements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent
- Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, buses, coaches or commercial fleets
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience using diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Current driver’s licence (must have)
- MR or HR Licence (or willingness to obtain) (Required)
- Experience with bus and coach fleets will be viewed favourably
