The Cauliflower Hotel, located in the heart of Waterloo, is looking for a skilled and reliable Full-Time Cook to join our kitchen team as a second dedicated cook. If you can handle a high-volume service, take pride in throwing down a perfect steak, making pizza from scratch, and seamlessly transition from solo prep work to a fast-paced team service, we want to hear from you!
Key responsibilities:
- Expertly cook high-quality steaks, burgers, tacos, parmis, schnitzels, pastas, curries, stir-fries, and signature classic pub fare menu items.
- Prepare fresh pizza dough from scratch, roll/stretch to order, manage pizza station toppings, and handle oven operations.
- Prepare and present elegant canapés for events, parties, and rooftop functions.
- Strictly follow established recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency.
- Manage stock levels and confidently place accurate food orders for your sections.
- Work independently during quiet prep hours and collaborate closely with the team during peak rush times.
About you:
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and fast on your feet during busy service rushes.
- Equally comfortable working completely alone on a shift or as part of a high-energy team.
- Proven experience cooking on a commercial line (experience with grills, pans/woks, short-order cooking, and handling dough/pizza ovens is highly valued).
- Clear communication to keep tickets organized and the kitchen running smoothly.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standard kitchen cleanliness.
