We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Fleet Supervisor to lead our safe, compliant, and efficient yard operations at our Kingston site. In this central coordination role, you will oversee a dedicated fleet of approximately 20 linehaul prime movers and trailer combinations, ensuring they are service ready and up to date all servicing, safety and maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations Management
- Efficiency & Productivity: Maximise fleet productivity while proactively minimising vehicle downtime.
- Incident Response: Manage after-hours operational requirements and act as the primary point of contact for emergency response when required.
Driver Management & Coordination
- Operations Support: Support the coordination of driver schedules, including leave coverage, and facilitate clear communication between drivers and management.
- Safety Culture: Conduct driver inductions, operational briefings, and toolbox talks to actively promote a positive safety culture.
Fleet Maintenance & Asset Management
- Maintenance Programs: Maintain and track preventative maintenance and servicing programs to keep the fleet safe and compliant.
- Breakdown Management: Act as the central point of contact for fleet maintenance providers, managing breakdown responses swiftly to maintain service delivery performance.
What We Are Looking For
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in a Fleet Supervisor, Transport Supervisor, or senior logistics coordination role, ideally within linehaul operations.
- Compliance Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), NHVR regulations, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and heavy vehicle fatigue management rules.
- Leadership & Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to lead drivers and communicate effectively with customers, maintenance providers, and upper management.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to handle the pressures of live transport operations, after-hours requirements, and unexpected vehicle breakdowns.
