Live local.

Work local.

Make an impact.

  • Camden/Macarthur | Full-time, workplace-based | Competitive remuneration + NFP salary packaging
  • Enjoy genuine autonomy and scope to shape how the role operates
  • See WHS improvements take hold and help injured employees achieve positive recovery at work outcomes
  • Enjoy meaningful work within an aged care organisation supporting older people in our community

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly motivated WHS Advisor to take the lead on workplace health and safety across our established aged care organisation of approximately 800 employees.

This is an opportunity to make the role your own.

You’ll be our dedicated WHS specialist, working alongside operational leaders and our People & Culture team, with the support and access to senior leadership you need to get things moving.

There’s plenty to do, and that’s part of the opportunity.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys a challenge, knows how to prioritise and gets genuine satisfaction from turning WHS priorities into practical improvements.

This isn’t a desk-only WHS role - you’ll be visible across our workplaces, talking to people, understanding the risks and helping make things happen.

This full-time onsite opportunity reports to the Chief People Officer and enjoys a remuneration package comprised of base salary + leave loading, superannuation & NFP Salary Packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthening our WHS systems, processes and safety culture
  • Providing practical WHS advice and coaching to leaders and managers
  • Working across our workplaces to identify risks and support practical controls
  • Supporting incident management and leading more complex investigations
  • Coordinating injury management and supporting sustainable recovery at work outcomes
  • Monitoring hazards, incidents and corrective actions to ensure important issues are addressed
  • Identifying trends and turning WHS information into meaningful action
  • Supporting consultation, WHS capability, reporting and assurance

You won’t be expected to do every WHS task yourself.

Managers remain responsible for safety within their operations, and you’ll have support from People & Culture and administration.

Your role is to bring the WHS expertise, create structure, focus attention on the risks that matter and help the organisation continually improve.

About you

We’re looking for more than someone who can tell us what the legislation says. We want someone who can translate WHS requirements into practical action.

You’ll bring relevant WHS qualifications and sound working knowledge of NSW work health and safety, workers compensation and recovery at work requirements.

You’ll thrive here if you

  • are highly motivated, organised and comfortable working autonomously
  • take initiative and follow things through
  • enjoy being visible and connected to the workplace
  • can build credibility and positively influence managers and employees
  • bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to WHS
  • enjoy improving systems rather than simply maintaining the status quo
  • understand injury management and effective recovery at work
  • can prioritise competing demands and know when to advise, challenge or escalation.
  • Experience in aged care, health, disability, community services or another complex operational environment would be highly regarded.
  • Enjoy our Benefits

Build your career without spending your life commuting and take on a role where you can genuinely see the difference your work makes.

  • Access to full not-for-profit Salary Packaging, making up to $18,550 of your income tax-free!
  • Annual review with performance-based increases
  • Enjoy our “Carrington Day” – an Additional Christmas Public Holiday each year
  • 15% employee discount at our onsite Rocksalt restaurant
  • 10% off full price shoes at a local shoe store
  • Paid parental leave including superannuation
  • Wellbeing program providing a comprehensive wellbeing, safety and mental health support for you and your family 24/7
  • Staff immunisation program
