Council’s Works & Infrastructure Branch is gearing up for our Bitumen Season and we’re on the look out for reliable, hard working team players to join our Bitumen Services Team from November 2026 through to April 2027. These temporary positions offer a great opportunity to work in a supportive crew, learn new skills and contribute to maintaining and improving our local roads.
About the Opportunity
You’ll be involved in a range of tasks including road patching, traffic control, and general roadside maintenance. If you enjoy physical work, being outdoors and working as part of a team – we’d love to hear from you. Successful applicants will be required to work in Underbool, Cowangie and Murrayville for a period of approximately 3-4 weeks through the bitumen season.
What you will bring
- Reliable, safety conscious attitude
- A current Traffic Controller Ticket
- A current unrestricted Australian drivers license, medium rigid (MR) or heavy rigid (HR) truck endorsed.
- Experience operating basic plant and equipment like rollers
- A valid OH&S Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Salary and Conditions
The position is classified within Band 3 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement commencing at $36.47 per hour including industry & maintenance allowances plus statutory superannuation.
