Our client is a purpose-led living sectors developer and operator with institutional backing. Their portfolio spans build-to-rent and other residential models. This role is based at head office.

About the Role

This is a head office based role, not tied to a single asset. You will take a strategic view of facilities management across the portfolio, acting as a facilities leader who shapes maintenance programs, manages contractors and ensures every property is safe, compliant and well presented. You will also play a key part in mobilising new assets, from operational handover through to the defects and liability period.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance, compliance and procurement across the portfolio
  • Developing maintenance programs, asset registers, lifecycle costs and capital expenditure forecasts for each property
  • Managing service contracts and essential services, including tenders, project supervision and contractor compliance
  • Leading health and safety, risk and emergency management, including training for the Asset Operations team
  • Mobilising new properties, including operational handover, managing builders and trades on site, and supporting defects management
  • Preparing and managing facilities budgets, and reporting on financial results with action plans to drive improvement
  • Working closely with Asset Management, Development and Finance, as well as councils and other external stakeholders

About You

Attitude, initiative and a can-do approach are essential: you take ownership, spot what needs doing and be proactive.

  • Experience in facilities management, building operations or property operations, ideally across residential, commercial or mixed-use assets
  • Sound knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, fire and security
  • Demonstrated experience in work health and safety, risk management and emergency management planning
  • Proven contractor management and experience developing and implementing maintenance plans
  • Strong budgeting and analytical skills, with intermediate to advanced Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A practical, calm and solutions-focused operator with a genuine commitment to service excellence
