Brisbane Full-Time On-site
C

Our client is an established and successful property investment group with a diverse portfolio of assets across Australia. With a hands‑on approach to asset management, the business is focused on maintaining high-quality properties, supporting tenants and protecting the long-term value of its investments.

An opportunity has arisen for a practical, self‑motivated Handyman / Facilities Manager to support the day‑to‑day maintenance and facilities management of its Brisbane industrial portfolio.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on position combining general maintenance, site inspections, tenant liaison and contractor coordination across multiple industrial properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable maintenance professional seeking a varied, autonomous role within an established property investment business, with direct involvement in the ongoing upkeep and performance of an industrial property portfolio.

Working closely with the wider property and facilities management team, you will take ownership of day‑to‑day building issues, completing minor repairs directly where appropriate and coordinating external trades for more complex works.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and preventative maintenance across a portfolio of industrial assets.
  • Conducting regular site inspections, identifying defects and coordinating timely rectification works.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for tenants regarding day‑to‑day maintenance and building issues.
  • Coordinating contractors and trades, including obtaining quotes, scheduling works, monitoring quality and confirming completion.
  • Supporting building compliance, safety requirements, contractor inductions and maintenance record keeping.
  • Assisting with capital works, refurbishments and tenant fit‑outs through on‑site coordination and contractor supervision.
  • Monitoring maintenance expenditure and ensuring works are completed efficiently and to an appropriate standard.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and providing regular updates to the wider property and facilities team.

The role will suit someone who enjoys being on the ground, takes pride in maintaining buildings to a high standard and can confidently manage a varied workload across multiple sites.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • A trade qualification or strong practical experience in general maintenance, building services or a similar hands‑on role.
  • Experience maintaining commercial, industrial or other multi‑site property assets.
  • The ability to undertake minor repairs independently and recognise when specialist contractors are required.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple maintenance jobs and contractors.
  • A practical, solutions‑focused approach to resolving building and tenant issues.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with tenants, contractors and property management stakeholders.
  • An understanding of workplace health and safety, contractor management and building compliance.
