About the role
Reporting into the CFO, this role focuses on tax management and strategic advisory for a property investment and development company. You will take ownership of all direct and indirect taxes including income tax, GST, FBT, stamp duty and land tax, and oversee the trust distribution review process to investors including the preparation of fund statements and annual tax returns. You will advise the Board and Executive team in relation to any tax law or policy change that may impact the business, manage tax due diligence and structuring in relation to M&A transactions, assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and submissions, and proactively manage tax risks.
Key responsibilities
- Completion and ownership of all direct and indirect taxes including income tax, GST, FBT, stamp duty and land tax
- Oversight and management of the trust distribution review process to investors including the preparation of fund statements and annual tax returns
- Advising the Board and Executive team in relation to any tax law or policy change that may impact the business
- Manage tax due diligence and structuring in relation to M&A transactions
- Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries and submissions
- Proactively manage tax risks
- Work with external tax advisors
About you
- CA/CPA qualified or equivalent tax qualification
- 10+ years of tax experience
- Some property development industry experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
