Capital Clinic Physiotherapy is looking for an experienced hand therapist to join our team at Turner, where we work alongside Orthopaedics ACT in a purpose-built orthopaedic precinct.

About the role

This is a dedicated hand and upper limb role in a clinic co-located with orthopaedic surgeons, radiology and an emergency hospital tenancy. Your caseload is built around post-surgical and acute hand and wrist presentations: tendon and nerve repairs, fractures, ligament injuries and the full range of conservative upper limb conditions that come with a busy orthopaedic referral stream. Fabrication and fitting of custom thermoplastic orthoses is a core part of the week. The team is led by one of Canberra's most experienced Accredited Hand Therapists.

Capital Clinic Physiotherapy is a Canberra-owned group with four sites across the city and more than two decades of serving the local community. That gives you the backing of an established team, structured professional development and an in-house network of clinicians, with the focus and autonomy of a specialist clinic.

About you

You are a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration and established hand therapy experience, confident with post-operative hand and wrist rehabilitation and independent in splint fabrication. Membership of the Australian Hand Therapy Association, or progress toward Accredited Hand Therapist status, is highly regarded, and we will support you to get there if you are not already. You communicate well with surgeons, GPs and patients alike, and you are comfortable working with compensable schemes (workers compensation, CTP, DVA) and private patients. Applicants must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

What we offer

  • Competitive remuneration based on your experience, plus a structured professional development allowance and leave
  • Direct co-location with an orthopaedic surgical team and a consistent specialist referral stream
  • A fully equipped new clinic
  • Mentoring and support toward AHTA accreditation, and in-house peer review and case discussion across the Capital Clinic group
  • A locally owned practice where the directors are practising clinicians, not a franchise or corporate chain
