About the Role
As a Yard Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe, clean and efficient depot environment. Working closely with the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Operations Manager with daily, weekly and monthly operational audits and inspections
- Conducting regular checks of trucks, trailers, forklifts and other yard equipment
- Monitoring and maintaining general yard cleanliness and presentation
- Identifying and reporting any maintenance, safety or operational issues
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination and smooth operation of the yard
- Ensuring equipment and work areas are maintained to a high standard
- Promoting a strong safety culture across the depot
- Assisting with general yard duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a yard, transport, logistics or similar supervisory role
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organised work environment
- Ability to conduct inspections and identify potential safety or maintenance issues
- Ability to pass a pre-employment commercial medical, including drug and alcohol screening
- Current driver's licence
