Temp Procurement Officer (cost optimisation project x 4-5 weeks)
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Officer for a 4-5 week temporary assignment with a well-established SMEATON GRANGE business.
Working closely with management, you will review existing supplier arrangements, source alternate providers and identify opportunities to achieve cost savings for the business.
Responsibilities:
Review current supplier arrangements, pricing and contracts
Contact existing suppliers to discuss pricing and negotiate improved rates
Research and identify alternative suppliers and service providers
Obtain, analyse, and compare competitive quotations
Review expenditure across a range of areas such as local and international freight, warehousing, utilities, and general business services
Assess value for money, service quality, and overall supplier performance
Present recommendations and potential cost savings to management
Maintain accurate records of supplier comparisons, negotiations and potential savings achieved
The type of person we are looking for would have a solid background in procurement, sourcing or a similar role.
In addition, prior experience negotiating with freight/logistics/warehousing providers would be a definite advantage.
