We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to undertake investigations and design of civil infrastructure. The successful applicant will be well versed in the preparation of estimates and related design reports, as well as having experience in the project management of external consultants and the ability to provide engineering advice and services to various departments within Council.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in scoping, planning, investigating, designing, and estimating civil engineering projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design standards, guidelines, and practices.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
- Knowledge in surveying with modern instruments and GPS technologies.
- Experience in project management, budgeting, and timelines.
- Strong customer and community engagement focus, with excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Design Software Programs, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and DRAINS.
- Experience in geotechnical, traffic, and structural engineering projects, including investigation, analysis, and design.
- Previous local government experience and knowledge of government procedures.
- Construction and project management experience, with traffic controller qualifications.
