Cadence Connect is partnering with an established Brisbane organisation to recruit an experienced Cloud Engineer.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of enterprise cloud infrastructure within a predominantly AWS environment, with additional exposure to Microsoft Azure.
Working within an experienced technology team, you'll be responsible for engineering, supporting and continuously improving cloud platforms that underpin critical business operations.
The role offers a strong balance of hands-on engineering, project delivery, automation and infrastructure optimisation.
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, solving complex problems and building secure, scalable cloud solutions rather than simply maintaining existing environments.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Cloud Engineer, you'll work across both operational support and project delivery, taking responsibility for the reliability, security and ongoing improvement of the organisation's cloud infrastructure.
- Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise AWS infrastructure, with additional exposure to Microsoft Azure.
- Managing cloud compute, networking, storage, identity, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Cloud Formation or similar technologies.
- Developing scripts and automation to streamline deployments, configuration management and operational processes.
- Managing cloud security, identity and access controls, including IAM, RBAC and associated security policies.
- Monitoring cloud performance, availability and capacity while identifying opportunities for optimisation.
- Troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions.
- Supporting cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades and broader technology improvement projects.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, security and broader technology teams to deliver reliable cloud services.
- Maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures and engineering standards.
About You
You're an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong technical foundations and proven experience working within production AWS environments.
You'll bring a practical engineering mindset, strong troubleshooting capabilities and the confidence to take ownership of complex cloud infrastructure.
To be successful, you'll bring
- Strong hands-on experience engineering and supporting AWS environments.
- Experience across core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3 and associated networking and security technologies.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, Cloud Formation or similar.
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Power Shell, Python or equivalent technologies.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, identity management and access controls.
- Experience supporting highly available production infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience contributing to cloud migrations, infrastructure improvements or project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
- What's on Offer
This is an opportunity to join an established organisation that continues to invest in its technology capability, offering genuine technical ownership and the opportunity to influence how its cloud environment evolves.
In return, you'll receive
- Salary up to $160,000 + Superannuation.
- Hybrid working arrangements β 2 days WFH.
- Predominantly AWS environment with additional Azure exposure.
- Hands-on engineering across both BAU and project delivery.
- Genuine ownership of cloud infrastructure and technical improvements.
- Collaborative team of experienced technology professionals.
- Long-term career development within an established Brisbane organisation.
