We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Commercial Performance to join our Gas Commercial team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Commercial Governance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting customer retention, revenue growth and commercial decision-making across APA's customer-facing businesses. Working across customer, contract, financial and market data, you will develop practical insights, tools and dashboards that help stakeholders better understand performance, identify opportunities, manage risk and make informed commercial decisions.

This role is ideal for a naturally curious and analytical problem solver who enjoys finding answers where there is no established playbook. You'll bring together information from a variety of internal and external sources, uncover meaningful insights and translate complex information into practical solutions that support better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models and self-service reporting tools that support commercial decision-making.
  • Analyse customer, contract and financial performance data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and value-enhancing initiatives.
  • Source, interpret and connect information from multiple internal and external datasets, industry intelligence, market research and news sources.
  • Monitor customer financial performance and credit-related metrics to support risk monitoring and commercial discussions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and revenue performance tracking through insightful analysis and reporting.
  • Translate complex data and analysis into practical insights and recommendations for a diverse range of stakeholders.

Your background

  • Demonstrated experience developing Power BI dashboards and working with complex datasets, including data modelling and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to work through ambiguity and identify practical solutions.
  • Experience combining information from multiple sources to generate meaningful insights and support business decisions.
  • Exposure to commercial, financial, customer, market or performance analysis within a complex business environment.
  • Naturally curious and proactive, with a track record of independently investigating issues, finding information and improving ways of working.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
