Brisbane City Council is offering six full-time Auto Electrician Apprenticeships within its Public Transport Services team.
You will learn how to install, maintain, diagnose and repair the electrical and electronic systems that keep Council's buses operating safely and reliably.
Your training will include:
Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults.
Working with vehicle wiring, batteries, alternators and starter motors.
Using diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot faults.
Maintaining vehicle air conditioning, lighting and instrumentation systems.
Interpreting wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
Learning about advanced vehicle technologies and electronic control systems.

Enjoyment of practical work and problem-solving.
Motivation and willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and safe work practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A current driver's licence or be working towards obtaining one.
No previous industry experience is required. You will receive on-the-job training and mentoring while completing formal study towards a nationally recognised qualification.
