Structural Steel Sales & Customer Service Administrator
This role suits someone who enjoys helping customers, keeping jobs organised and working closely with a busy team to ensure orders progress smoothly from enquiry through to delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email.
- Preparing and sending quotations, following up outstanding quotes and recording customer responses.
- Processing purchase orders and written quote acceptances.
- Entering and maintaining accurate customer and job information in our CRM, the Quote Register and Master Register.
- Coordinating with estimating, detailing, production and transport teams to provide customers with updates.
- Following up drawings, approvals and other information required to progress jobs.
- Confirming delivery requirements and communicating any changes or delays.
- Assisting with general sales administration and maintaining accurate records.
About you
- Experience in sales administration, customer service or a similar role.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and business systems.
- A proactive approach to following up tasks and keeping customers informed.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in structural steel, construction or building materials would be highly regarded.
- Familiarity and the ability to read basic construction drawings would also be an advantage.
