Brunton Engineering is an established civil and structural contractor specialising in technically challenging infrastructure projects, including bridge construction and rehabilitation, rail infrastructure, reinforced concrete works and structural steel fabrication and installation.
We're looking for experienced Carpenters and Formworkers who enjoy hands-on construction, take pride in their workmanship and want to be involved in delivering challenging infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Constructing and installing formwork for reinforced concrete structures, including bridge abutments, piers, footings, retaining walls and foundations.
- Setting out, assembling, bracing and stripping conventional and proprietary formwork systems.
- Assisting with reinforcement installation, concrete pours and general civil construction activities.
- Supporting bridge construction, rehabilitation and rail infrastructure projects.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Working alongside supervisors, engineers and other trades to deliver works safely and efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in carpentry, formwork or reinforced concrete construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Sound understanding of construction safety, quality and site procedures.
- Reliable, hardworking and comfortable working within a construction team.
- Current Australian driver's licence and White Card.
- Willingness to travel throughout Victoria and undertake occasional weekend or night-shift works.
Additional Experience Highly Regarded
- Bridge construction, including abutments, piers, headstocks and retaining structures.
- Complex formwork, falsework and temporary works.
- Reinforcement fixing and concrete placement.
- Rail infrastructure construction, particularly for V/Line, ARTC or Metro Trains Melbourne.
- Current Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card and relevant rail competencies.
- Structural steel installation and general civil construction experience.
