Refrigeration Mechanic in Brisbane

Brizfix Solutions is seeking an experienced

Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Brisbane, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining and servicing refrigeration systems for our diverse client base.

As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining domestic refrigerators, commercial, and industrial refrigeration equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.

This position is essential to our operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the reliability of our service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair domestic refrigerators, commercial, and industrial refrigeration systems and components
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration equipment using specialised testing equipment and tools
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity
• Replace faulty parts, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems
• Conduct refrigerant handling, recovery, and charging in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
• Test refrigeration systems for leaks and pressure, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work completed
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair estimates, timelines and maintenance recommendations
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and industry best practices on job sites
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and troubleshoot issues on-site

What we're looking for

• Current Refrigeration Mechanic certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
• Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on experience in domestic refrigerators and/or commercial or industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair
• Sound knowledge of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and system design
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment used in refrigeration work
• Valid driver's licence
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required
• Commitment to workplace health and safety compliance
• Preferred experience with both domestic and commercial refrigeration systems
• Preferred knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to refrigeration equipment
