Parts Interpreter / Trainee Parts Interpreter – Brisbane

Brisbane Isuzu is seeking a Parts Interpreter or Trainee Parts Interpreter to join our team at our Eagle Farm location in Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our automotive dealership operations. As a Parts Interpreter, you will be responsible for identifying, locating and supplying the correct parts and components for Isuzu vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting our service and sales departments. Whether you are an experienced parts interpreter or a trainee looking to develop your skills in the automotive trades, this role offers an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and locating the correct parts and components for Isuzu vehicles using parts catalogues, computer systems and technical documentation.
• Responding to customer enquiries regarding part availability, pricing and delivery timeframes.
• Processing parts orders and managing inventory levels to ensure efficient stock rotation.
• Liaising with service departments, sales teams and customers to understand vehicle requirements and specifications.
• Maintaining accurate records of parts transactions and maintaining organised filing systems.
• Providing technical advice on part compatibility and vehicle specifications.
• Supporting the delivery and collection of parts for customers.
• Developing knowledge of Isuzu vehicle models, part numbers and automotive terminology through ongoing training and experience.
• Contributing to a safe and professional working environment within the parts department.

What we're looking for

• Experience as a Parts Interpreter or equivalent automotive parts background (desirable but not essential for trainees).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when identifying and ordering parts.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with computer systems and parts management software (training will be provided).
• Knowledge of automotive terminology, vehicle systems and component identification.
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and orders simultaneously.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous learning and developing technical knowledge of Isuzu vehicles and parts.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach to work.
• For trainees: enthusiasm to learn, a willingness to develop automotive knowledge and a keen interest in the automotive trades industry.
