Reporting to the R&D Manager, this role will play a key part in the development of innovative products from concept through to testing, validation and production, working closely with our in-house Industrial Designer to evaluate design concepts and develop practical engineering solutions.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Technician with minimum year of industry experience. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, is hands-on in their approach and wants to see their ideas evolve into finished products.

You will be involved in front-end concept engineering, prototype development, testing, compliance validation and production implementation. You'll help bring new products to life while supporting continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee product development activities through design, validation, testing and final implementation.
  • Support compliance testing of window frames, assemblies and related products.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancement, cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Assist with the development of quality specifications for components and assemblies.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement initiatives across production and manufacturing processes.
  • Support the implementation of new production processes and manufacturing improvements.

About You

You will have recently completed or at a minimum be working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline, or a minimum three years of relevant industry experience.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for product development, problem-solving and innovation.
  • Enjoys taking ownership of projects and seeing them through from concept to completion.
  • Has a hands-on approach and enjoys working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Is interested in both front-end engineering design and back-end validation, testing and implementation.
  • Possesses CAD experience, preferably using SolidWorks.
  • Has strong technical documentation, reporting and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Is eager to learn and develop under the guidance of an experienced R&D team.
  • Has exposure to manufacturing environments involving windows, plastics, electronics, glass products or similar industries (highly regarded but not essential).
  • Brings creativity and curiosity, with a genuine interest in developing new ideas and engineering solutions.

What's On Offer

  • Permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative products from concept through to production.
  • Mentorship and coaching from an experienced R&D and product development team.
  • Exposure to all stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Additional paid birthday leave.
  • Flare benefits program, including salary packaging and employee discounts.
  • Employee Referral Program.
  • Ongoing training, development and career progression opportunities.
  • Employee Assistance Program access.
